PM: Russia extends geography of affordable, safe internal flights

MOSCOW, Feb 9 (PRIME) -- Russia had been actively extending the geography of internal flights despite sanctions and restrictions, and the flights remain affordable, comfortable and safe for people, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said on Thursday.

“Russia has encountered serious challenges lately. In the new conditions, the aviation industry continues to fulfil tasks successfully. The geography of internal flights is actively widened. New routes are opened to link cities and regions of our large country directly,” he said.

“In spite of sanctions and restrictions, air connection is still affordable and comfortable for millions of our citizens. And what is the most important, it remains safe. This is the top priority,” he added.

Mishustin also said that Russia’s aviation industry will be based on new models of planes and helicopters that are being designed by local companies.
